CAM vendors are developing new tools and refining existing ones to help optimize processes in multiple areas on the shop floor. M omentum has been strong in U.S. manufac- turing, largely driven by productivity increases from investments in more efficient machines, tooling and automation and the process improvements shops realize with such advancements in technology. e over-arching goal in implementing these improvements is the reduction of cycle time.
