The DDP drilling system works in steels, cast steels and alloyed steels with tensile strengths up to 1,000 N/mm 2 and is available with and without through-coolant ports. The DDM drilling system works in acid-resistant steels, titanium, and nickel alloys and is also available with through-coolant ports. HORN is expanding the use of the EG3 and EG5 technology to Supermini, Mini and 312 grooving systems to offer you additional solutions for tough applications. EG3 and EG5 technology is a combination of substrate, edge preparation and coating with an extremely smooth surface, reducing the amount of heat transfer to the tool. This technology was originally applied to Supermini boring tools where better surface finishes and increased tool life was required when machining small diameters in difficult materials.
