The enterprise has been renamed Kyocera Senco Industrial Tools Inc. With the acquisition of Senco, Kyocera plans to increase its sales of fastening tools and fasteners to about $361 million by the fiscal year ending March 31, 2021. :: Kyocera Corp. global.kyocera.com Jtekt Toyoda Americas Corp. celebrated the grand unveiling of its Great Lakes Technical Center earlier in 2017. Nestled at the heart of the U.S. automotive industry and less than 40 miles from the Canadian border, Toyoda's Wixom, Michi- gan-based tech center provides local sales application, turnkey and service support to manufacturers in the Great Lakes region. "Toyoda customers will benefit from the (Great Lakes) facility, which will serve as our service hub for Michigan, as well as an area for current and future custom- ers to view the machine capabilities we offer," says Michigan & Windsor Regional Manager Austin Sievers. "Our doors are open for all area manufacturers; please coordinate visits with your local distributor representative or myself. We will also be hosting training seminars in the near fu- ture for grinding, gear skiving and specific machining applications." There will be no shortage of Toyoda ex- pertise in service and engineering, as the tech center shares the 75,000-square- foot facility with Toyoda's remanufactured products division (RPD). Dedicated much to the repairing and remanufacturing of machines since the 1970s, RPD will con- tinue to specialize in returning overworked machining centers to OEM specifications. :: Toyoda Americas Corp. 847-253-0340, toyoda.com Absolute Machine Tools Hires GM of Ohio Technical Center Absolute Machine Tools Inc. has hired Jeff Sturtevant as general manager of its Mason Technical Center in Mason, Ohio. He will oversee all sales and operations for southern Ohio and Indiana and the state of Kentucky. Mr. Sturtevant comes to Absolute from DMG Mori USA, where he was vice president in charge of operations in Ohio and Kentucky for sales, engineered solutions, service and parts. Mr. Sturtevant began his career in 1979 as a machine operator and pro- grammer at Ingersoll Milling Machine. He joined Cincinnati Milacron in 1985 as sales engineer and later became V.P. of APMD - National Sales. He next opened his own distributorship and contract machine shop specializing in machin- ing stainless steel exhaust components for Tier 1 and 2 suppliers to automotive OEMs. After much of that work moved overseas, Mr. Sturtevant went to work for DMG America.
