Line of Special Cutting Tools for Internal Booth 837 Lester Detterbeck Enterprises (LDE) will display its lineup of high-speed steel, carbide-tipped and solid carbide special cutting tools—both internal tooling and form tools. The radial and axial cam-relieved tools are backed off eccentrically, giving the tool almost constant form and strength and extending resharpening possibilities. They are available in any of the high-speed steels as solid or tipped tools (tantung or carbide brazed to 4140 body with a 45 to 50 Rc hardness). The company has been in the industry for more than 110 years. With full design and build capabilities and generations of experi- ence, the company will be ready in its booth to answer tooling questions and discuss solutions. :: Lester Detterbeck Enterprises Ltd. 800-533-3328, lesterdetterbeck.com Rotary Transfer Machine Boasts Enhanced Operations Booth 423 The Hydromat Epic II rotary transfer machine is the new varia- tion of the Epic R/T platform, which boasts enhanced operations, production reporting, downtime analysis, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance interval scheduling. These features, among others, yield improved part setups, fast change-overs, process-tooling development and integrated tool monitoring. An upgraded servo control features absolute position- ing, upgraded programming software and an efficient architecture that reduces failure points. EPIC II machines possess the general characteristics of their predecessors, maintaining their integrity, reliability and flexibility, the company says. :: Hydromat Inc. 314-432-4644, hydromat.com Multi-Spindle Automatics with Bar Capacity to 20 mm Booth 623 The G Series cam machines from Schütte, the company's small- est multi-spindle automatics, are designed for high efficiency and speed and feature a bar capacity of 20 mm. The machines have six or eight main spindles and are often run as 2 × 3 or 2 × 4 spindle production machines. Simple workpieces can be produced at a cycle time of less than 1 sec. With auxiliary functions such as CNC compound slides and/or CNC pickoff spindle, the machines are designed to handle complex, high-precision components. Other features on the G machines to increase production ef- ficiencies and process capability are the mineral granite base to re- duce thermal expansion, the SWS400 presettable tooling system, and independent motor drives that take the place of gearing for free speed selection and stopping in the pickoff spindle, or for tap- ping operations. The SG18 six-spindle is a hybrid of cam and CNC. :: Schütte USA 800-668-4035, schutteusa.com 48 PRODUCTION MACHINING :: APRIL 2017 PMTS 2017: SHOW COVERAGE
