PRODUCTS Abrasive Bond Technology Ofers Versatility Norton Abrasives has developed and launched Norton Vitrium3, bonded abrasives products engineered for maximum performance and cost savings in precision grinding, the company says. Norton Vitrium3 features a bond technology developed by the Saint-Gobain Abrasives R&D; team that features excellent grain adhesion, resulting in improved product versatility across a range of applications, the company says. Substantial performance improvements with Norton Vitrium3 are now attainable in all Norton abrasive grains, from Norton Quantum ceramic alumina to conventional aluminum oxide. Norton Vitrium3 has three major features and benefts over standard vitrifed bonds: A stronger bond construction; an improved holding power using less bond-toabrasive ratio; and an increased porosity that improves coolant fow and chip clearance to eliminate burn or other part damage, especially on tough-to-grind materials, such as high nickel alloys, tool steels and chrome. :: Norton Abrasives 800-446-1119 ind.nortonabrasives.com knowledge Center Titanium & HRSA Machining Presented by: Instant, Online Access to: Online Tools— technology guides, calculators, programming tips & more Application-based knowledge—Case Studies, best practices and process innovations Ask Experts—Submit your biggest machining challenges to yellow coat application engineers Videos, new products and more—all dedicated to Titanium & Heat Resistant Super Alloys Discover Titanium & HRSA Machining Solutions at: productionmachining.com/knowledgecenter/titanium-and-hrsa-machining 56 PRODUCTION MACHINING :: AUGUST 2013
