SeSSIon DeSCrIP TIonS TUESDAY, APRIL 16 8:15 – 9:15 a.m. IT Disaster Recovery Solutions What do you do in your shop to mitigate the loss of the critical data in your business? The sustainability of your company may one day rely on the ability of your team to keep your business data flowing. PMPA's IT Committee has prepared this session to provide real world examples from multiple shops focusing on traditional, virtual machine, and cloud recovery plans. Take home the ideas shared by leading shops to get a better understanding of the options available to you, including mass storage devices, virtual machines, and cloud. 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Common Pitfalls in Interpreting Quality Indexes "My parts are all in spec, but my Cpk is below required! How can this be?" Taking Cpk and Ppk at face value may not provide an accurate assessment of your shop's true capability. From sample size to tool wear, from multiple stations (or spindles) to taper, there are many factors that can make your indexes appear worse or better than actual. Alex Zaks of Altegra SPC Software will take a look at the common pitfalls in interpreting and computing quality indexes. At the end of this session, you will understand how you can better defend your quality indexes and what you can do to improve them.
