IMTS PRODUC TS 62 PRODUCTION MACHINING :: SEPTEMBER 2018 Tightening Fixture Ensures Precision Big Kaiser | West Building and Annex | Level 3 | Booth 431610 Big Kaiser's Torque Fit is a tightening fixture for collet chucks with an inte- grated torque measuring system. This device is designed to ensure that a collet chuck is correctly tightened. The tightening fixture notifies the user of a correctly set torque value via an audible buzzer. If overtightening occurs, the error LED light will flash. The tightening fixture was developed to replace multiple torque wrenches and has adapters available for all common machine tool interfaces such as CAT, BT, SK, HSK and BIG CAPTO. For maximum convenience, torque values for all Big Kaiser-made collet chucks are preset. The operator can, however, use a generic setting to tighten any collet chuck with a torque value up to 80 Nm (60 foot-pounds). Grinding Center's Spindle Speed Promotes Precision United Grinding North America Inc. | North Building | Level 3 | Booth 236802 United Grinding's Magerle MFP 50 and MFP 51 grinding and machining centers are designed for productivity, flexibility, safety and performance in a compact design. As a five- or six-axis system, the machine performs grinding, milling and drilling in a single part clamping. Spindle speeds ranging to 10,000 rpm enable high-precision machining. The coolant nozzle, controllable via two axes, provides unrestricted freedom of move- ment and precise positioning of the coolant jet. The MFP 51 has an extended range of functions. The 66-position toolchanger and the automatic diamond roll change enable efficient machining of several different work- pieces without altering the tooling, according to the company. The coolant supply can be adapted to the process with the automatic nozzle changer, optimizing grinding results. The company also features the Blohm Profimat XT grinding machine, the Studer Favorit CNC 1,600-mm grinding machine, the Walter Helitronic Power 400 grinding machines, among others. Automated Optical Comparator Can Check 99 Parts at Once Keyence Corp. of America | East and North Building Level 3 | Booth 135044, 236467 Keyence's IM-7030T is the newest model in its Instant Measurement System series. The company describes this automated optical comparator as a fast and easy-to-use system that enables accurate measurement of parts with the push of a button. This model has six times the measurement volume of previous models and includes an automated drop indicator. The unit can identify as many as 99 dimensions in seconds and check as many as 99 parts at once. It enables users to check larger and taller parts than previous models. All systems include automated reporting that provides real- time information about manufacturing processes so that they can be adjusted in time for producing parts to specification.
