WESTEC PRODUC TS 48 PRODUCTION MACHINING :: SEPTEMBER 2017 Vise Enables Seven Operations in a Single Pass Booth 1915 Carr Lane Roemheld Mfg. Co. introduces its MCP-series vise capable of seven separate operations in a single pass. It is also a lifetime vise that grips safely on as little as 3 mm. According to the company, these five-axis vises allow unrestricted tool access for multiple-side machining without retrofitting. They are avail- able in three styles: fixed jaw, concentric clamping and position flexible clamping. These vises combine a compact, fully enclosed design with a sliding-jaw seg- ment design. Because of an adjusting spindle in the upper part of the housing, deformation in the base during clamping is minimal, providing high rigidity of the entire workholding system. The segment design ensures a high degree of preci- sion and stability, reducing guiding clear- ance to almost zero, the company says. Manufactured in Germany, these MCP vises are made of high-quality construc- tion, with a special cast steel base for rigidity, dimensional stability and durabil- ity. All sides are hardened and ground, providing a basis for maximum precision. Hydraulic and mechanical styles are avail- able, in a variety of sizes, with jaw widths from 40 mm to 125 mm. :: Carr Lane Roemheld Mfg.
