PRODUCTS productionmachining.com :: 49 CAD for CAM Design Software Adds More Functionality Mastercam - CNC Software Inc. offers a suite of design tools aimed at getting parts on and off a machine as quickly as possible. Model- ing tools include not only 3D surfacing and solids, but hole filling, direct editing without a solids history, geometry repair and more. Mastercam Design streamlines and simplifies mod- eling and editing geometry. It also supports advanced geometry creation, in- cluding solid modeling, hybrid ma- chining, NURBS curves and surfaces, 2D and 3D associative dimensioning, surface extension, blending, trimming, splitting, variable filleting, solid modeling, and hybrid modeling to complete jobs quicker and more efficiently. Mastercam 2017 Design repairs imported solids (whole bod- ies or individual faces) by improving the accuracy of edges and by identifying and optimizing blends, allowing other Model Prep functions to work better. Toolpaths on the repaired solid maintain associativity to faces. :: Mastercam - CNC Software Inc. 860-875-5006, mastercam.com info@TowerMWF.com 773-927-6161 www.TowerMWF.com Clean Fluid Technology Get Proven Results Deburring Tool for Elliptical or Contoured Surfaces Heule Tool Corp.'s COFA-C Series tooling is for deburring ellipti- cal or contoured surfaces in larger diameters. Replaceable solid carbide-coated blades for holes from 6 - 26 mm are available from stock, with various coatings providing long tool life, the company says. This technology provides different blade and spring options to create an effective deburring tool for any application depending on hole geometry and material being machined. The series is designed for ID and OD elliptical deburring on even and uneven bore edges in a single operation. They are especially useful for automotive and aerospace applications. The large C-series tooling consists of an independent blade that is fit into a more guided blade holder. This is said to increase the tool life and process capability. The blade itself requires less material and can be changed quickly. Different blade sizes are available for the same tool body, allowing different cutting diameters based on a specific application. Controlled by a simple spring, the carbide cutting blade follows the contour of the holes' surface, removing all burrs while creating an even tapered corner break. :: Heule Tool Corp. 513-860-9900, heuletool.com
