FeatureCAM is for automating CNC programming of milling machines, turning and turn-mill centers, Swiss lathes and wire EDM units. The automation tools help manufacturers reduce program- ming time, and produce consistent, high quality results. The 2018 version of FeatureCAM includes an improved user experience, including a new ribbon and workflow enhancements to simplify programming; automatic orientation for parallel finishing tool paths, based on the region being machined; ability to use the axis limits of a machine tool to automatically determine a standard or alternate position, in 3+2 positioning; and for Swiss-type lathes you can pro- gram and simulate superposition, including double-ended drilling to help synchronise the machine. Hydrodynamic Bar Feeder for Large Quantities of Barstock Booth 247 CNC Indexing & Feeding Technologies' Tracer Minibar hydro- dynamic magazine bar feeder is able to feed bar diameters from 0.8 mm to 12 mm and up to 10 ft. in length. The Minibar is an ideal solution for customers with fixed headstock and Swiss-type CNC lathes that need to feed large quantities of small barstock for long production runs. Variable barstock sizes can be adjusted quickly without the operator hav- ing to use any tools. It is built to allow for fast changes of guide channel sets to increase throughput and minimize change-over and setup times. Torque force and speed is easily adjustable so operators can feed small stock consistently without any issues. This is an important feature that all Tracer series bar feeders provide, the company says.
