Design, Manufacture and Inspection in One Machine Booth 1122 NX offers a single, integrated solution set for design, manufacturing and inspection, as well as for G-code driven machine simulation. By combining design, simulation, tooling and manufacturing, the software enables users to streamline development processes using the same knowledge and data from the first concept to the shop floor. It offers Synchronous Technology for flexible design, multi- discipline simulation, advanced part manufacturing applications, and a tight integration with Teamcenter, Siemens' product lifecycle management (PLM) platform. The manufacturing software has been adopted across several industries with capabilities for aerospace, automotive, medical device, mold and die, and machinery industries. :: Ally PLM Solutions 513-984-0480, allyplm.com Digital Measurement System Features Simple Operation Booth 1137 QVI Snap digital measurement systems, offered by RAM division of Quality Vision International, are now equipped with Snap 2.0 metrology software, designed to improve user accessibility and ease of use. The software's mode selector features three modes of operation. Measure Mode allows quick caliper-type measurements of one or more parts. The operator places a part on the stage and presses the "Go" button. Feature Extraction automatically identifies the part and measures and reports its features, including circles, arcs, lines, widths and angles. Program Mode permits manual creation of a new measurement routine, editing of a saved routine, or creation of a new routine from CAD. Run Mode features a simplified user interface that allows opera- tors to run existing routines. It is useful for those performing repetitive inspection tasks. An administrator can password-lock this or any mode to ensure that measurement functions are per- formed only by authorized personnel. :: Quality Vision International Inc. 585-544-0450, qvii.com Dovetail Adaptation Added to Modular Workholding System Booth 1031 Hainbuch America introduces the seventh addition to its Today- Tonight-Tomorrow modular workholding system, the DEANok. The dovetail adaptation is designed for prismatic stationary applications principally on multi-axis CNC machining centers utilizing three, four and five-axis movements. The DEANok enables complete access to all five sides of a workpiece, with multiple sizes avail- able that quickly mount to all of the company's station- ary chucking systems. Designed to accept most com- mercially available dovetail fixtures, the DEANok is fully interchangeable with all of the modular system adaptations and will change over in 20 seconds or less, says the company. Hainbuch adds that adding a device for holding parts with dovetails can improve machining center productivity. With the Today-Tonight-Tomorrow platform, operators can quickly switch from OD to ID to three-jaw to dovetail clamping from a single modular system, enhancing spindle uptime and manufactur- ing throughput. :: Hainbuch America Workholding Technology 800-281-5734, hainbuchamerica.com 40 PRODUCTION MACHINING :: APRIL 2017 PMTS 2017: SHOW COVERAGE
