Gill, III, as New Workforce Development Manager PMPA is happy to announce Sterling E. Gill, III, as its new workforce development manager. This timely and signifi cant hire acknowledges and directly addresses the number one challenge voiced by an overwhelming majority of our members: fi nding, hiring, training and engaging productive, long-term employees. "Sterling's arrival at PMPA underscores our laser focus on creation of value for our members, in strategic alignment with PMPA's core purpose, helping our members adapt and thrive," says Bernie Nagle, executive director at PMPA. Mr. Gill comes to PMPA with more than 20 years of experience in the creation of professional development workshops, youth and community outreach, conference management, training software, talent development and coaching. Mr. Gill has also received training and has specifi c experience in grant writing and project funding. Sterling arrives at PMPA with a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in adult training and education. He also holds a number of training-related certifi cations. Over the years, he has held titles such as director of training and development, and senior training manager. Sterling will report directly to PMPA director of technology and industry research, Miles Free, and he will be located at the PMPA headquarters in Brecksville, Ohio. "I am amazed at how each shop that I have visited has the same issue — plenty of career-type openings and no applicants," Mr. Gill says. "These are jobs for people with talent, not just labor. I was impressed by the technology and the use of computers throughout each company that I visited. I am committed to help make a difference to help people fi nd a great career in precision machining."
